CIRCULAR LETTER
Re: Submission of Proposals for the General Conference World Assembly 2023
Dear brothers and sisters,
May the peace of the Lord be with you. Greetings with the word of God in Ephesians 6:10: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.”
We hope this letter finds you, your families, and all brothers and sisters well in the midst of these difficult times.
With the help of the Lord, the delegates’ assembly of the General Conference World Assembly 2023 will be held on July 11-30, 2023 in Huaral, Peru, followed by the Public Conference on August 2-5, 2023.
The primary purpose of the World Assembly is to choose new leaders and plan for the gospel ministry to cover the world. Another important function is to hear the reports of the outgoing officers, and to decide upon proposals.
In preparation for the delegates’ assembly, all unions and fields under the General Conference are requested to send the proposals that their countries may have for the World Assembly. The proposals will be sent to the delegates after the end of the time for submitting proposals, and after the translation has been prepared.
Please remember that all proposals first need to be approved by a majority vote of the delegates of the respective fields and unions before they can be presented to the General Conference world delegation. No personal proposals or committee proposals can be discussed in the General Conference assembly except proposals from the outgoing General Conference Full Board. Priority will be given to proposals that have not been discussed in the past. Please do not send proposals that have already been decided multiple times over the last 100 years with the same conclusion.
Proposals can be accepted only in English, Spanish, and French. All proposals originally prepared in other languages need to be translated into one of these languages before being sent to the General Conference. When sending proposals that have been translated, please also include the original version with the translation.
The deadline for submitting proposals is March 31, 2023. Proposals should be submitted using the online form that has been developed for this purpose. The online forms are available in English and Spanish at this time.
Enclosed you will find the Proposal form in PDF format. It is intended as an offline worksheet only. To officially submit a form, please go to the General Conference website and complete the online version of the form. Instructions will be displayed as you go, as well as in the confirmation letter you will receive after submitting each online form. Do NOT send forms by email. If, for any reason, your field or union is unable to comply with this request, please contact our office.
Please stay alert to further updates and instructions for delegates related to the World Assembly. New information will be sent out as it becomes available in the coming weeks and months. Considering the time in which we live, let us pray that the Lord may lead the World Assembly, that God’s people may be ready for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in fullness, and that the way may be prepared for His coming. May the Lord give us His grace.
