Sister Raquel Orce Sotomayor, Director of the Publishing Department at the General Conference of IMS, presented this meaningful interpretation. Sister Raquel Orce Sotomayor mentioned the significant Biblical fact that Israel did not exist as a nation and as a state with a capital city for a period of about thousand years.
In addition, Sister Raquel Orce Sotomayor underlined that the Christians should not engage and be involved as defenders of any party of the today’s war conflicts, such as that between Hamas and Israel.
Furthermore, Sister Raquel Orce Sotomayor emphasized that in the Bible the term «Israel» is a symbol of the entity of all faithful God’s followers, but not of today’s state of Israel. On the other hand, according to the Wikipedia, the inhabitants of the geographical region Palestine speak an Arabic dialect, viz. creation of artificial nations is not productive as well. Unfortunately, states like Israel and Palestine repeat the experience of the two brothers in Luke 12:13-14, because Abraham is the father of both the Israelites and Ishmaelites.
